Adjunct Faculty PositionsThe Washington Center is seeking potential adjunct faculty to teach evenings courses for our spring 2009 semester. Courses meet once a week (Monday through Thursday) for three hours for fifteen weeks in the semester and ten weeks during the quarter terms. Instructors should hold a Ph.D. and have experience teaching undergraduate students using participatory pedagogies. We are seeking a limited number of new adjunct faculty to teach courses in areas such as the arts and humanities, psychology, law, public relations, and public policy. In most cases, faculty are able to design their own specialized courses around their favorite teaching areas, consistent with the mission of The Washington Center to enhance students’ professional achievement, civic engagement, and leadership development. Classes are generally 12-18 students and consist of mostly junior and senior level students. Most classes are held at The Washington Center’s Academic Center at 1333 16th St. NW, Washington, DC 20036. To apply, please submit a cover letter, resume, and a list of preferred teaching areas or topics to faculty@twc.edu . Deadline for consideration for spring courses are November 7, 2008.
