I'm Mark Montegriffo, a recent politics and philosophy graduate from the University of Manchester, U.K. I've written locally as well as for the New Statesman and iNews in England, the Times of Israel in the Middle East, and you may have seen me on TV debates such as the BBC’s Question Time and The Big Questions.
I was born and raised on the small but gorgeous Rock of Gibraltar, a south-western European British territory bordered with Spain. Sadly we won't be European for much longer though as things stand (not for long - thanks, Brexit). A lot of my politics work in Gibraltar is surrounding progressive policy and campaigning, but we're in the States so I'm beginning to take a temporary background role on that for the purposes of focusing on the affairs in America the beautiful.
Writing poetry, playing guitar and eating tapas are among my extra-political passions. My favourite writers are Orwell, Wilde and Marx. My favourite singers are Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and Gabriel Moreno.
