Intern, U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security
Hey! My name is Nicole Garcia. I was born and raised in the Dominican Republic, but now live in South Florida. I am a senior at Florida State University (Go Noles!!) studying Computer Science and completing two certifications in United States Intelligence Studies and Statistical Analysis Systems.
As a college senior, the daunting and unavoidable question from friends and family of “what’s next?” is fast approaching. But I hope to find the answer through my internship with the Homeland Security Advisory Council at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
It won’t all be work though; while in D.C., I plan to enjoy the endless networking opportunities, as well as the free food and museums — if it’s free, it’s for me! I also love traveling and exploring new cities, so I might be catching a few buses out of the District some weekends. I cannot wait to share my experiences with you!
