Salary Range: $90,000.00 to 100,000.00, Annually
The Salesforce Administrator at The Washington Center will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing the organization's Salesforce environment and its related systems. This position is responsible for maximizing Salesforce usage by implementing best practices, managing integrations with other systems, and customizing objects to meet the evolving needs of various business units. The Administrator will be tasked with fostering innovation and ensuring that Salesforce capabilities are fully leveraged to support the organization's2 strategic goals.
The Washington Center is a remote/hybrid organization with many employees working on average one day per week in TWC’s Residential and Academic Facility, conveniently located near Union Station and public transportation in the NoMa neighborhood of Washington, DC. Given our organizational mission focus on skills, workforce development and collaboration, there are times where cross-collaboration among teams and departments will require more than one day per week in the office. Further, some programs at TWC do require program staff to work nights and/or weekends. The individual in this role is expected to reside in the greater Washington, DC metropolitan area.
Essential Functions
Salesforce Administration & System Management
- Oversee user and license management, including roles, profiles, permission sets and security settings.
- Manage sandbox environments, deployment processes and metadata migrations.
- Design and implement advanced automation workflows using Salesforce Flow and Apex triggers.
- Evaluate, test and deploy Salesforce releases.
- Administer and ensure compatibility with third-party software integrations.
- Manage secure web forms for data intake and automation.
- Administer and improve a self-service Experience Cloud portal.
- Provide ongoing advanced end-user support and training.
- Develop comprehensive training materials and facilitate onboarding and regular user training sessions.
- Ensure proper documentation of business processes and system configurations.
Data Architecture, Integrity & Governance
- Design and maintain the Salesforce data model, including custom objects, workflows and relationships.
- Define and enforce data governance policies (e.g., FERPA).
- Lead data migration strategies using tools like Data Loader and Workbench.
- Ensure data quality, consistency and compliance across systems.
Business Analysis, Process Optimization & Project Management
- Conduct stakeholder meetings and requirement gathering sessions across TWC.
- Perform gap analyses and develop process flows, wireframes and mockups.
- Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) and rollout of new features.
- Collaborate with departments to streamline workflows and improve user adoption.
- Serve as the primary project coordinator for Salesforce-related initiatives.
- Collaborate with and delegate tasks to IT staff, in alignment with strategic goals.
- Act as a liaison between Salesforce operations and business units.
- Serve as lead contact with consultants and developers on system improvements.
Required Education and Experience
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing Salesforce platforms.
- Salesforce Administrator Certification required; Advanced Administrator or other certifications a plus.
- Experience with Salesforce Experience Cloud preferred.
- Experience building and managing web forms using a form-building tool (Titan, FormAssembly, Flow Tool Kit, etc.) preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with Apex, JavaScript, SQL and system integration.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
