Salary Range: $105,000.00 to $115,000, Annually
The Senior Advisor of Corporate and Foundation Partnerships develops and manages the corporate and foundation engagement pipeline to advance the mission of TWC, in concert with the Executive Director of Advancement and Partnerships. The Senior Advisor will identify and engage with corporate, corporate foundation, and institutional foundation stakeholders and serve as a collaborative and creative strategist with TWC leadership in the development of mutually beneficial funding partnerships. The Senior Advisor will serve as a thought leader within the Advancement and Partnerships Team and will work closely with the Assistant Director, Advancement and Partnerships and will directly supervise the Advancement Coordinator. The position is based in Washington, D.C.
The Washington Center is a remote/hybrid organization with most employees working on average one day per week in TWC’s Residential and Academic Facility, conveniently located near Union Station and public transportation in the NoMa neighborhood of Washington, D.C. Given our organizational mission focus on skills, workforce development and collaboration, there are times where cross-collaboration among teams and departments will require more than one day per week in the office. Given this role engages with corporations and foundations, some additional travel in the region or more broadly may be required. The individual in this role is expected to reside in the greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
Essential Functions
Fundraising and Partnership Development
- Develop and build a robust pipeline of corporate and foundation prospects.
- Conduct in-person meetings (min. 10 monthly) with a portfolio of corporate and foundation donors and prospects, as appropriate to the strategic plan and strategic priorities for the Executive Director and TWC.
- Conduct business development meetings, as appropriate, with the Office of Employer Relations.
- Proposal development and grant report development and management as needed.
- In partnership with the Executive Director, create and execute donor stewardship strategies for Board of Trustees and all major donors.
Strategy and Thought Leadership
- Serve as a thought partner to the Executive Director, helping to create and execute new corporate and foundation funding partnerships in alignment with TWC strategic plan and priorities.
- Work collaboratively across other teams to identify and create potential funding opportunities, with special emphasis on the Employer Relations team.
Team Management
- Supervise Advancement Coordinator as they assist in the execution of the department’s operation.

Required Education and Experience
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Direct Marketing, Business, Non-Profit Management, or another relevant field.
- A minimum of 7 years of work experience in a fast-paced, high-volume fundraising environment.
- Demonstrated experience meeting ambitious annual targets in previous positions.
Preferred Education/Qualifications and Experience
- Working knowledge and understanding of the corporate and foundation sectors, particularly those organizations whose priorities align with TWC’s mission and vision.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with an ability to craft and present effective solicitations, draft professional correspondence, and convey complex ideas succinctly.
- A self-starter who uses an entrepreneurial approach to building and guiding an organizational fundraising program with the ability to expand the pipeline of supporters and partners.
- Ability to work effectively with high-level decision makers, business executives and donors.
- Ambition to build and maintain effective partnerships.
- Mastery of Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, or other database management software; comfort using these tools for prospect/donor research and moves management.
- Ability to work effectively within a team while also working cross-functionally among other teams within the organization.
