Grant Duration: 24 months
Salary Range: $80,000.00 to 89,000.00, Annually
The Senior Program and Grants Manager will provide support for the grant-funded ECMC Student Parent Empowerment Program. In this role, the Program Manager will collaborate with the Director of Programs, Short-Term & Regional and the Senior Vice President of Programs & Innovation to manage partnerships with campuses and coalition partners, ensure prompt and complete data collection, coordinate efforts with grant partners and project SME, review cohort models and communication, and other external program components, as needed. The Senior Program and Grants Manager will also oversee the development and management of the Skill-Building Weekend Retreat in Washington, D.C., along with wrap-around program services like peer networking, mentoring, career coaching, and other grant-directed activities. We are seeking someone who has demonstrated experience with project management with grant-funded projects.
The Washington Center is a hybrid organization with the majority of employees working on average one day per week in TWC’s Residential and Academic Facility. The individual in this role is expected to reside in the greater Washington, DC metropolitan area. Given our organizational mission focus on skills, workforce development and collaboration, there are times where cross-collaboration among teams and departments will require more than one day per week in the office. This role will include travel to partner institutions and program work on some evenings and weekends.
Key Job Functions
Grant Administration
- Maintain grant compliance and reporting, including program outcome measurement and grant budgets —taking responsibility for meeting high standards of effectiveness, timeliness, and completeness, including:
- Monitoring and maintaining funder reporting schedules and requirements.
- Tracking progress toward organizational and programmatic outcomes and goals using project management software.
- Drafting compelling progress reports and targeted program updates.
- Assembling all necessary supporting materials and documents including budget reports, outcome measurements, success stories, etc.
- Maintaining a repository of grant materials using provided document management platforms.
Program Management
- Lead communication with coalition partners and campuses, data collection, program coordination, and outreach to program participants.
- Oversee the planning and development of a weekend experience in D.C.to include speakers, site visits, career development activities, etc.
- Partner with Recruiting & Admissions teams on the selection of participants for the weekend experience and supporting logistics for travel reimbursement, in-city resources, catering, and housing needs.
- Work with internal stakeholders (Marketing & Communications) and external partners to promote the program and create post-program materials.
- Oversee logistics of program in D.C., coordinating staff support, acting as point person for speakers and site visit hosts, facilitating networking activities, and assisting participants with any issues as needed.
- Partner with Program Advising staff to hold monthly career coaching sessions for 70-75 student parents focused on individualized goal-setting, competency and skill development, professional branding, and transitions from college to careers
- Oversee the development of peer networking programs and participant mentoring (opt-in) to build a supportive and sustainable cohort that can outlast the grant funding period.
- Assist in oversight of micro-internships and additional participant success initiatives as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered:
- Master’s Degree preferred; Bachelor’s Degree required
- 5+ years of experience with managing grant funded projects or programs
- Experience in educational settings or in developing and designing learning content/programs
- Experience with internship program and peer mentoring models
- Knowledge of student parent challenges and success models
- Knowledge of current statistics and needs for higher education, career readiness, internship management, or other related fields
- Topical understanding of at least one of the following: experiential education, universal design, diversity, equity, and inclusion
